Discuss what The Lonely Planet means as it describes India as “a litmus test for many travelers - some are only too happy to leave, while others stay for a lifetime.” Join instructor, Tara Gupta, in this highly interactive session with enchanting audiovisuals. You will learn about India - its culture, endless shopping, custom tailoring and its yoga, spa and rejuvenation options! Come and have fun with Bollywood music, finger foods and beverages. Perhaps even learn how to wear (tie) a saree!
Tara Gupta has worked in the travel industry for over 23 years -- both in India and the U.S. Having traveled extensively to worldwide destinations –sharing her experience and enthusiasm about “Travel” is her passion. She is also adjunct faculty at Foothill College Travel Careers program. As a public speaker she has presented on local and national levels on a wide variety of topics, including Travel Series for San Mateo County Libraries. A course book for Travel Agents, “Destination Specialist –India” sponsored by The Travel Institute, will be published shortly.

Obtain an overview of the Safari regions of Africa, specifically focusing on the reserves of Kenya. Discuss logistics and essential practical information for the first time traveler to enhance the trip! Santa Cruz Mountain Wine Tour
(TRIP 603)
In this one-day excursion participants will survey tasting, viticulture and oenology techniques while sampling an assortment of the finest wines that the Santa Cruz Mountains have to offer. Participants will have the opportunity to visit three wineries in the Santa Cruz Viticulture Area and spend time tasting with the winemakers.
Over the course of the day students can expect to:
Understand the differences between the making of red and white wines
The effects and nuances of oak barrel aging
How local climate and natural environment affect the final outcome of wine
How to distinguish and describe the various tastes and sensations of wine drinking (tannins, acidity, sweetness, as well as fruit and flavor profiles)
Proper tasting technique and etiquette including color contrast, bouquet, aroma, and terminology
A basic chronology of the life of the grape from the vine to the bottle
This class is perfect for wine lovers of all levels who are looking for a fun and educational day of onsite wine tasting at beautiful mountain wineries. Please be advised the tour vans will depart promptly at 11:00am and the tour will include some walking. Please bring a sack lunch.
