Middle Eastern Belly Dance
(REC 559 & 560)

Learn an old and beautiful art form while developing stronger abdominals, improved posture and longer, leaner muscles! In this easy-to-follow class, you will develop greater body awareness and improved control of key muscle groups to create fluid strength and improved flexibility. The techniques and movements of this eclectic dance style are broken down and taught progressively, bringing together your kinesthetic ability and artistic expression. Participants are guaranteed an invigorating, full-body workout while having FUN! This class is for all ages, genders, skill levels and body types. Wear comfortable exercise clothes; bring a hip wrap or a large scarf. Flat shoes, socks or bare feet are ok (no heels).
Hala is a native of Egypt and grew up with this dance. She teaches and performs regularly in the Bay Area and all over the world. Safety and enjoyment are of highest priority in Hala’s classes.

This six-week class will introduce you to the essential basics of billiards (pool) by learning things such as proper stance, bridge and grip, aiming and cue ball control. Along with competition among your classmates, you will also learn how to execute some very neat trick shots. The instructor will contact you prior to class to answer any questions.
Space is limited to 10 per class. Both sessions will sell out quickly, so please book early! Be sure to indicate your section (.S1 OR .S2) when enrolling.

Horsemanship (REC 562)

Classes include horses, equipment and professional facilities. You will be taught the proper care and maintenance of the horses including basic grooming, saddling, bridling, riding instruction, and overall safety. Experience required is listed in parentheses after each class.
You must be 18 years or older and have a good command of the English language. It is necessary
to wear a boot with a heel (no tennis shoes or hiking boots.) Due to the physical limitations of our horses, riders weight should not exceed 185 lbs. Each section is limited to 7 students. The first class for new students (not returning) will be orientation. If you have questions about which style is best for you, please call (650) 948-9980.

Introductory Sailing (REC 563)

This 4-hour class has been designed to introduce new sailors to the fun of sailing. This is a hands-on class where students spend time on the water learning the basic fundamentals of sailing including: steering, hoisting and trimming sail, tacking, jibing, points of sail, nomenclature, knots, safety and teamwork. Classes are held aboard 22’ foot sloop rigged keelboats. Students should wear tennis or deck shoes, (no black soles please). Dress appropriate for the weather including jacket, sunscreen and sunglasses (with safety strap), hats and gloves optional.
