Introduction to Social Media
(COMP 152)

Facebook, Twitter & More!

You’ve heard about Twitter on the news. Your friends have reconnected with old friends on Facebook. Why are these new Internet applications generating so much interest and debate? How can you benefit from participating? Led by two social media experts, this hands-on course will show you the hottest social media applications, such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and you’ll create your own account in two of the applications. The instructors will show you where you need to take care, such as with privacy issues, the ownership of posted content, and business use and transparency. You’ll come away with an appreciation for what the hype is all about as well as step-by-step instructions on how you can continue to enjoy using the applications after class is over.

Both instructors are social media experts and possess over 30 years of combined experience at high tech companies in the Silicon Valley.
